Ski the 2010 Winter Olympic Runs
Spotimage.com have created a number of Google Earth browser plug-in tours that allow you to experience the 2010 Winter Olympics downhill ski runs from a first person perspective.
The tours feature imagery acquired by the KOMPSAT-2 satellite on 28 December 2009. The available tours include the downhill course, the giant slalom, the slalom and the Super-G runs.

To find the best place to lock lips with your valentine, just enter your location and find suggested make-out locations from other like minded romantic souls.
If you don't mind being disturbed by hordes of other lovers during your most intensely romantic moments you can even add your own favourite make-out location to the map.

Find Your Nearest Haiti Benefit Concert
Gruvr Haiti Relief Concert Finder
There are lots of smaller Haiti benefit concerts being held around the world. Gruvr, the Google Maps mashup of nearby concerts, has created a new Google Map that automatically locates the Haiti concerts nearest to your location.
The map animates through the 10 closest events. Gruvr says that at the moment about 30 new Haiti events are being discovered per day. The normal Gruvr reminder function works for Haiti concerts. Just add the shows to your favorites list, tell Gruvr your email, and you can receive e-mail reminders of your nearest events.

Toronto Transit Planner on Google Maps
Toronto Trip Planner
The Toronto Transit Commission have released a new trip planner to find a route between two addresses in the city. The planner can show you the best route using the city's subways/RT, buses and streetcars. The Trip Planner can also show you a “Walking Only” option.
To use the trip planner users have to enter a starting point and a destination and the time of travel. It is also possible to select options for accessible routes, bus routes with bicycle racks and to show points of interest near stops/stations.
After entering the details of a trip the trip planner will return the suggested route, including times and suggested transfers. If you select the 'view the details of this trip' option you can also view a Google Map of the selected route.

Czech Google Maps Mashup Round-Up
Inmite is a team of Czech web developers who helped 360cities.net produce their latest Immersive Tours Map. As you can tell from the 360Cities.net map Inmite are pretty skilful users of the Google Maps API. Here are a few of their other Google Maps implementations:
Prague International Marathon Map
Inmite created a real-time map for the Prague International Marathon. The map showed the real-time position of runners in the race.
Even though even the slowest runners in the race finished some time last year you can still use the map to replay the race. The map allows you to pick the top 5 runners in a number of age categories and replay the race at a number of speeds. The map shows the progress of the different runners as they completed the course.
That's not all. If you click on the 'select different race' link at the top of the page you can also replay a number of other Czech road races.
Marianne Days
This Google Map for Marianne magazine shows all the shops and brands involved in 'Marianne Days' (a weekend full of shop sales in the Czech Republic).
The map includes a really sophisticated shopping planning tool. It is possible to add shops to an itinerary and the map will return a near-optimal path enabling users to fit in as much shopping as they can.
Even though Marianne Days is now over the shops are still there, so Czech shoppers are still able to use the tool to plan their day's shopping.
Cenove Mapy
Inmite helped Czech real estate company, Bezrealitky.cz, produce this Google Maps mashup to show current real estate prices in the Czech Republic. The site uses a heat map to show the relative prices of properties at 1m².
The map can be used to find the most desirable (or at least the most costly) locations to live or help you find the cheapest areas to buy. As you might imagine property prices are highest in the centre of Prague but the map also shows which suburbs have the most expensive and cheapest property.

Drunk Driving with Google Maps
Toronto Impaired Driving Map
This week The Toronto Star have produced a Google Map to show Ontario driver licence suspensions for impaired driving as a percentage of population for 2007. The result is a heat map showing the license suspension records from the Ministry of Transportation using boundaries from Statistics Canada.
As usual the newspaper has provided a neat analysis of the map, which includes age graphs of male and female drunk drivers. For the first time the Toronto Star has also produced a narrated video of the data created using Google Earth.
Both the analysis and the video highlight higher drunk driving rates in rural and northern areas of Ontario.
