What Mobile - Google & Nokia to Merge
What Mobile reports this morning that Nokia will soon merge with Google. The combined company will now be known as ‘Nookle‘. Google Maps will also be renamed, becoming Nookle Maps.

OpenGeoData - OpenStreetMap to Disband
According to OpenGeoData the huge success of Google Map Maker has seen OpenStreetMap volunteers abandon OSM in droves. OpenStreetMap has therefore decided to face up to the inevitable and close.
OpenGeoData claim that "Steve Coast, founder of OSM, is to change roles at Microsoft and begin working on printer drivers for the upcoming Windows 8."
However I have exclusive news that OSM has actually rebranded as OpenWhateverMap, with a revolutionary new design.
TechCrunch - Google Places Removed from Google Search
TechCrunch has noticed that Google Places has been removed from Google search results after being classified as spam and a content farm.
TechCrunch says that the Google spam team specifically target "sites that copy others’ content and sites with low levels of original content." They have no choice then but to remove Google Places form Google search results.
